Yellow category
- Human and animal anatomical waste
- Soiled waste
- Expired or discarded medicines
- Chemical and clinical waste
Red category
Contaminated recyclable waste such as tubing, bottles, IV tubes, catheters, urine bags, syringes without needles and gloves.
White category
Waste sharps including needles, fixed-needle syringes, scalpels, blades and other contaminated metal sharps.
Blue category
Broken, discarded or contaminated glassware, medicine vials and ampoules, and metallic body implants.
